A few weeks ago I said to the kids, "I haven't heard the peacock lately". I got worried and then the next day I heard his call and I was happy. I went to the National Zoo with Jantje's school a few weeks ago and we heard that call and some of the adults didn't know what it was and I told them it was a peacock. I told them I knew because my sister has a peacock and they were very amused by that.
The peacock is very well known at the Institute! They love the way he just appeared one day at the farm and never left. He is home here for sure! He's been here about about 10 years now. I just heard him at this very moment.
